I wouldn't be 100% against a man, but I'd much prefer a female gynecologist. I think it's mainly because I've always been very open with my mum, she's Scandinavian and very shameless and I can talk to her about things that i could never ever talk to my dad about, as he's very prudish. And I dunno, theres just something more comforting in the fact that whoever is examining you has the same parts as you.

Sometimes when I blow my nose, I get a sort of gripping pain that makes me like... not double over but not able to stand straight for a few seconds around where my ovaries are...

YES. I had this this morning and briefly wondered if I should get it checked out. When I cough, it sometimes feels like something is yanking hard on my ovaries/uterus, and the pain is fairly debilitating, like you describe. I'm sure it's not 'normal', but it goes away for a few days at a time so it's not a constant worry.

I've often wondered if I have a bit of endometriosis, but the symptoms I get are largely outside of shark week, and I'm led to believe that endometriosis causes crippling pain especially in shark week..

Thank god I'm not the only one! I might ask my brother about it later, though I don't think he really specialises in that area... I might go to the doctor about it I think, I need to have a smear test thingy done anyway (age in Wales is 21, not 25 or whatever like England) so I might talk to them then... Scary though, it's definitely not normal. Or it doesn't feel it...
Yeah, I knew a girl with endo, and she was alright most of the time except for around shark week, when she physically couldn't get out of bed because she was in so much pain.

It could be muscular actually now that you mention it. It's just weird how blowing my nose sets it off. They aren't really connected that much... Are they? I guess stomach muscles are used in coughing and sneezing and blowing nose and stuff! But I have no idea D:

They ask men to cough to check their balls, I presume the same muscles exist in women.. you know, just without the balls.

Actually, just remembered, they check for uterine prolapse and bladder incontinence by asking the woman to cough. So abdominal muscles must be connected to the pelvic floor muscles.

Having Googled our symptoms (yup. ) it looks like it could be pelvic inflammatory disease or ovarian cysts. The first is caused by STIs, which I definitely don't have, the second is harmless.

I sometimes get that pain when I sneeze/cough/blow my nose too hard as well...
