If the weight loss is noticable on your top half, I'd say tops that fit well (ie aren't baggy) and cover your collar bones/shoulders, also 3/4 length or long sleeves. I find when I'm wearing sleeveless/low cut shirts, my skinniness is a lot more noticable, but if I'm wearing a normal t shirt or longsleeve I look a slightly more 'normal' (for lack of a better term) weight. As for legs I'm not sure.

Littlemissmetal wrote:On a related note with clothes being uncomfortable, and I apologise if this seems insensitive to anyone who’s mentioned putting on weight, it really isn’t meant to be.

Does anyone have any tips for clothes or styles that are good for hiding weight loss? Wearing deliberately baggy things seems a bad option as that just highlights loss of shape I would guess?

I’ve lost about a stone with my GI issues and whilst I can’t do much about the fact it shows in my face, I’d like to at least attempt to divert attention away from my body.

As much as I’m trying to be sensible and keep in mind that with a final diagnosis and treatment I will start to put it back on in time, it’s hard to just grit my teeth and bear it with people saying “Oh my god, you’re getting so skinny” or “Why are you trying to lose weight, you were thin to begin with?” etc ad nauseum.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated (I am hopeless at this kind of thing!)

I'm no expert on these things, but horizontal strips are meant to make you look bigger.

You could also try wearing less black as black clothes tend to make people look slimmer. Some people call it "fat bastard black" because lots of fat blokes wear black in an effort not to look overweight.

I'd agree with Freyja when she says covering collar bones and shoulders, they are generally some of the most telling signs of weight loss. Maybe floaty type clothes as well? They look elegant and would cover you better? I'm not very good at this, when I was really skinny I just wore quite a lot of baggy stuff really, but that was a few years ago!

I also do that. It hides the rolls of fat around my neck. I should probably just wear a mask and never lie down so people can't see it
If I like it, It's probably awful.

I'm a stick insect and pollen puts up more of a resistance to the wind than I do, but I get rolls in my stomach when I sit down. People never mention my great arse or incredible rack.

Oh, no, I know that everyone gets rolls when they sit down, but mine are significantly bigger than they were, and it's actually uncomfortable to sit down because of the notable difference.
Yes, yes they are.

One good thing about putting on weight. My boobs. Holy fucking hell. I don't need to wear a push up bra to get cleavage anymore. WTF is this?!
