Gutted to lose on pens but in fairness Italy battered us for the majority of the game. Going 1-0 up after 2 minutes was probably worse for us than it was them in hindsight.

I felt very sorry for little Saka. He looked distraught. :(

Scoring early is always a difficult position for any team to be in. Do you stick or go for the second goal.
I had the feeling that Southgate was too cautious especially in extra time.
Once it gets to penalties its a lottery. The racist abuse was sadly predictable.
I'm a neutral over the result as I'm Scottish but I was hoping England would win as they are a great young team and it was a great chance at winning a trophy.
Bodes well for future tournaments with a young team still learning.
Italy just looked more experienced to me and the stats backed this up.
