I still think that the best modern representation of Sherlock Holmes on the screen nowadays was House.

That said, I haven't seen Elementary.
If I like it, It's probably awful.

That Sherlock somehow managed to be even worse than the first episode. OK, it wasn't a complete mess - it was just massively boring. An hour and a half of a fucking wedding...that's not what this show should be about. OK, there was some mystery thrown in, almost as if they got about halfway through filiming and reaslised it was supposed to be a detective show. Might well not bother with the next one...

I preferred this episode because there were less stupid as fuck ridiculous plot devices than the other episodes.

Except for "PEOPLE WITH TIGHT BELTS DON'T FEEL KNIFE WOUNDS"

This. I still don't quite understand how that was supposed to be plausible at all. The belts look snug, but the burned dude still managed to fasten it with one hand and a weak arm..

Anyway, the last twenty minutes or so were good. Problem is, the episode was ninety minutes long. It just seems like they're writing it for the fandom, meaning anyone who's been roped in to watching it after someone said "You should watch Sherlock, it's REALLY GOOD" are being left pretty bored and confused.

Yet again in this episode of Sherlock the detective part of the show was merely an an afterthought.

This series is more of a drama series than a crime/detective series.

BOOORING!

Started watching Californication the other week. After four episodes, I've decided I like it. Mainly because Henry Rollins turned up as a radio DJ saying that three of Hank's books are called South of Heaven, Seasons In The Abyss, and God Hates Us All.

Actually, writing this, I'm now wondering if they called Duchovny's character Hank Moody in honour of Rollins himself...

The thing is with Sherlock, that was only the 8th? episode of it. Even if your a massive fan and watching every episode multiple times, you can't get as attached to characters you haven't seen that much of (aside from the main two, I keep forgetting who everyone is, and even with those two, their backstories aren't that clear to me). It was a mistake doing an episode so entirely focused on one character's wedding, I just wanted that over and for them to get on with the actual mystery, and it was disappointing when that didn't happen. I had high hopes with the robbery thing at the start, that it wouldn't go off on too much of a tangent, but that was only a throughaway gag.

The preposterousness of it is less off-putting to me - I used to love Jonathon Creek, and that had it's charm in being completely preposterous. So it's not believable that someone would be able to walk around for hours after being stabbed, that would be less important if I could be inclined to believe it.

On Series 8 of Dexter now and about 3/4 the way through.

Getting really annoyed at how stupid everyone is becoming.

I'm betting that Dexter gets betrayed at least once.

Straight up couldn't be bothered to watch the last series.

Just got the ending off Amy instead, and that convinced me to never pick it up.

Looking forward to the new plots, and especially looking forward to Johnathan Banks being on more.

Just got round to watching them since I got my laptop back and this is the truth
