From what I've been told, grinding's often caused by stress. I have a tendency to do it in my sleep a bit. I have quite a crappy misaligned jaw because of it - it clicks and occasionally locks a bit. Not ideal.

Hmm yeah, might be. It's not constant, but I think it was brought on by me chewing gum.. Even after I'd taken it out, I kept on with the chewing and grinding.
