Finished work, too exhausted to move from my desk and head to the bus stop. The thought of 50 minutes door to door on 2 buses isn't giving me much motivation. Going to be doing the usual collapsing into bed when I get in. My shoulder is really painful too (ultrasound the other week shows I have a torn tendon) from having to do lots of typing.

There are only a few "Job Seekers For Life" types that come in. Most people would rather work than face the hideous red tape and bureaucracy in the Jobcentre Plus. Fact is if you're ages away and you need to peg it to get to work on time an employer would rather hire someone closer anyway.

I assume from this you don't have children or elderly relatives to care for.

Because busses go directly where you want them to all of the time, you never have to catch more than one and all journey's are less than an hour. Not to mention they're 100% reliable and of course employer's love gaps in your employment whilst learning new skills!

If by moving you're talking about switching jobs in the same area then that's plausible, but expecting people to go out of their way on public transport is just plain stupid. Like Czech said, if you have responsibilities outside of work it becomes much harder.

I'll agree with this. I have plenty of friends who complain about being unemployed but don't do anything to get a career or even a filler job.

My brother is exactly like this. He went to college this year but even turning up for not even 2 and a half days a week is too much effort for him lately. I don't know how he can stand being in the house so much never mind having so little money :?

What started off as mild wrist pain has progressed into whole arm and hand pain. This is definitely not needed.

Totally haven't been spending most of the small hours getting my music onto a 64GB micro SD only for the last batch of copying I did to not appear for some reason.

Feeling proper sick and I'm running today without my other team leader. Really hope it's quiet.
