Really not up for going back to four hour shifts at work.

Starting to get the disheartened brain drain from job hunting, especially since it seems like every day there's less new positions to apply to.

Offered the room to the first girl who visited yesterday, no response to the text yet so still arranging viewings in the meantime. Such a drag, I'd like not to have to sort out replacement housemates every couple of months.

Why do you? Is your contract per room or for the house?

It's a 3-person flat on a shared contract. Whenever someone leaves we need to find a replacement. What I'm stipulating this time however is that we'd prefer people who are in it for the long haul. That said, people's circumstances change and there's not a lot you can do about that.

Yes there is, rent a house where you alone have a contract and don't share it with anyone else.
I don't understand why people bother signing into these contracts, they are always a complete pain in the arse, and in the 3 years I did house sharing, I never once had a shared contract.
Who the hell reads anything in sigs these days, unless it's an animated gif?

New manager wouldn't let me stay to finish off what I was doing. I hate leaving a job half done.

My experience has been the opposite - I wasn't aware you could even get singular contracts for flatshares. As far as I'm aware, that's pretty unheard of here. Everyone's on contract and typically, everything's joint and several.

Individual contracts for each room in a shared house means that you start out as strangers, so there's no friendships to lose when the kitchen gets filthy and all-out war breaks out over who cleans it.

Suitable households that provide individual rather than shared contracts are few and far between in Bristol. Besides, weighing out all the pros and cons, I like this place. Contrast it with where I was last - individual contract but big downside is I didn't have the choice of who I lived with. At least it didn't affect me when the 43-year-old bumpkin divorcee missed month after month of rent.
I'm really just having a moan, it's actually a massive upshot to be able to choose housemates myself and the last two times someone's left they've given me plenty of time. It is a gamble to find someone you can rely on to pay the rent on time if it's a shared contract but that's not been an issue so far as everyone I've lived with here has been full-time employed on the same or better salary.

33 here.
I read on BBC or Metro you guys are expecting a heat wave too. It's finally for the first time going to go above 24 degrees yeah? I joke, but I am genuinely looking forward to being back. Perfect summers, warm winters. England I fucking miss you.

My body isn't even ready for the level of ball soup that will be occurring.
We got 7 guys in the same apartment.
We'll have fucking drowned each by the end of the week.
