Growing my hair back would solve all of this, but I have done my time as a scruffy urchin. I now try at least to look half dapper.

Correct response! I last had my hair cut in 1989.

You're missing out on a young lady playing with your hair for 15 minutes. Gets me all tingly.

Similar time as me. Had it cut for a job and have regretted it ever since as it didn't grow back the same. That was the first time that I had ever had short hair as well, due to having hippy parents and 1970s/80s hair fashions.

Not as good as getting a young lady to plait it. :P

I used to go ages without a haircut but now I get it cut back short every few months. I honestly couldn't go back now, its so much easier. Plus what turbo said

I say young. The lady who just did my hair was ancient history. She said she was 50 this year. Alright love and the rest. Wasn't a bad experience. She did most of the talking. I didn't wish to interrupt.

It's getting tricky to think up things for dinner.

As much as having your hair played with is nice, the expectation of making small talk takes away from the appeal quite significantly.

Trivial grumbling: Our housemates have an annoying habit of hearing you sneak into the kitchen and charging in, putting their crap music on and taking up all the space making their very messy, elaborate meals for about 3 hours, complete with squealing and singing. I just want ten minutes to get something to eat in peace!

Definitely, particularly if they're not even that good at small talk. This lady was rabbiting on about something or another, rather fortunately I couldn't really hear her over the hair driers in the place. Just enough for me to put the relevant "oh right" "yeah" and other acknowledgements to show I was listening, even though I wasn't.

I had a look at my hairline the other day. I wouldn't quite call it receding (baldness being matrilineal ftw) but I do have a huge forehead. I doubt any short hair style would look good, would just bring out the worst in my face.

Guy with a big forehead here. Got a short hairstyle and it honestly looks way better than it did when it was long.

That comment can be read very diffferently than what was meant.

Another guy with a huge forehead here. Agreed with the above.

Third! Although I can't grow it long without it becoming truly ridiculous shorter is better.

I'm talking tall long Chuck Schuldiner forehead. More or less got his hairline.

Not likely to cut my hair anytime soon if I can help it, so...
