There's a fair few of them around here - mostly on farm tracks - on the Great Western main line. They're slowly going though.

At 77, he was either beyond his peak in cognitive functions, or had been using that crossing for so many years he thought 'It's never happened yet'. I feel sorry that someone's lost their dad/grandad/whatever, but I find it hard to truly sympathise with anyone who fucks with trains. That's some fast, heavy, scary shit.

It's not as much a signal as just a phone call to tell the signalman that you are planning to cross the level crossing. They are usually only found on little used country roads that have very little traffic. They've been trying to get rid of them for years, but it's usually the locals that complain that they need them.

Still, stopping your car and having to make a phonecall, waiting for them to answer then eventually waive you through would be a ballache if you wer local and crossed fairly regularly

Today was a joke, had to build and patch a rack for bands that were meant to turn up, got super stressed because I was running out of time. Set up a drumkit and everything only for the bands to go into the venue next door.
I had to dismantle the whole fucking thing only to put it up tomorrow again instead.

Promised a phone call from UPS this week regarding a job. So far that hasn't happened. Going to have a look tomorrow at jobs, hopefully something will stand out from the rest. Need something that I enjoy doing not just cash. Something driving orientated would suit me down to the ground.

1. Woke up about 3 times last night because I knew I had to be up early.
2. Dude driving slow on the way to the airport, then kept speeding up when the road became two lanes, then slowed down again when it went back to one.
