Trivial Grumblings
Re: Trivial Grumblings
I think Dr Pepper is the only thing I have had out here that I can get back in the UK so I am not sure whats what there. Fucking love Dr Pepper, fuck all the h8rs.

Fanta is awesome out there for some reason, too. Tastes well different.
I'm assuming the Fanta here is made with corn syrup, whereas european Fanta is made with sugar. I noticed that Fanta tastes better in Europe when I was in Holland so I have created a theory.
Fanta is a German drink, therefore it is more popular throughout Germany and mainland Europe, so the sales are high. It is more expensive to make drinks with sugar than with corn syrup, so Coca Cola would likely only make their best selling drinks with sugar, that is why Euopeans get better Fanta, and why we get better Dr. Pepper and Sprite. Although on closer inspection it seems that we also get Fanta made with sugar, but I assume that only applies to some areas of the UK and depends on where you're buying from.

That comment can be read very diffferently than what was meant.

Re: Trivial Grumblings
Should have posted this the other day... but Pestilence are godawful live! I absolutely love the first 3 albums and had never seen them before so was really looking forward to them but the new songs are no better live, the old songs sound like shit, Mameli is a fucking awful vocalist and an even worse frontman. The only truly terrible performance at Neurotic and it was a band I'd actually been looking forward to finally seeing.

Silent switches not making software install silently. Applying same command without silent switch and it installs silently anyway.

Train to work was cancelled this morning because it hit a car.

It's alright. He's dead. It's the driver I feel sorry for.
The train driver? Yeah, I can't even imagine how shitty she/he must feel. :/

I'm afraid not, he died at the scene.

From the "witness" story, it sounds like the train didn't even have chance to brake, so I'm assuming this guy drove on to the tracks just as it was approaching. Dunno if it was deliberate or an accident though.

That type of signal exists? I bet it won't anymore.
Who the hell reads anything in sigs these days, unless it's an animated gif?

It was either someone who didn't know that crossing as you apparently have to phone from a telephone box to alert the signalman
How many of these exist? Considering the cost of the accident, surely it'd make sense to build level crossings in these places?
