I don't think this was the product of giving too much head but I shall definitely wikipedia it.

I wish Superdrug would do their carrier bags in a different colour to that very feminine pink.

I get customers saying that to me sometimes. I don't see what the problem is, it's just a bag :P
Do you feel it threatens your masculinity or something? (I am genuinely intrigued) You can always take your own carrier bag with you :P
Also pink used to be a 'boys colour', it being a lighter shade of red which was seen as a strong and masculine colour.

Whatever the historical associations of the colour, now it is feminine or even homo, neither of which I want as part of my image! I don't like gaudy colours anyway. Superdrug have done dark blue bags in the past so maybe they could give a choice.

This is the most trivial grumbling I've seen in this thread ever.

Get the fuck over it.

Mate, that is an extremely homophobic thing to say, and not something I'd recommend putting out there.

House of Fraser bags are solid fuscia pink, and I don't really mind.

it is neither homophobic nor extreme. You must be quite politically correct.

I read it as 'I am afraid of being seen as being homosexual'. That's homophobia, homes.

As you pointed out, the matter is trivial; I didn't say it was a big deal. It seems to bother you more than me. I'm not the one who's swearing.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that thought that.

Trivial grumbling, can't find my earplugs and I'm going to a gig tonight. Have to use shitty foam ones.

I did say that, and it is a trivial thing to dislike the colour of a shop's carrier bags. It's a bit different when those are your reasons for disliking it.

How pathetic are you?

"Oh no, people might think I'm one of those homosexuals because I had a pink carrier bag from a toiletry store.

It's a bit worrying you think that way, especially at your age.

I don't strictly think that, I'm just a bit uncomfortable with the association. Most straight men would not want to be suspected of being homosexual or effeminate for whatever reason, at least where I'm from they wouldn't. It is a normal, traditional social attitude and there is no justification in trying to pathologise it with the word 'homophobia', trying to equate it with genuine psychological phobias such as fear of enclosed spaces.

It doesn't bother me so much that I would stop using the bags, but I'd prefer a different colour. That's it. There's no crime. Not even a thought crime.

Sorry, slow down for all of us dumb twats at home like myself. Who the hell looks at a man holding a pink bag from Superdrug and thinks...."oh he must be gay." Perhaps at school when we were 12 or something but what???!

I mean you might be fresh out of school where that sort of playground mentality is still fresh in your mind, but what worries me is that you could so easily be older than I am and you still think like that. To which my advice for either scenario is the same. Grow up mate.

Edit: Don't look now but the Pride colours are in your avatar. What are you going to change that now?
