Any recommendations for a simple recipe for making gluten free bread? (Without a bread maker as that's at my mums so we'll have to do it the hard way til we head down that way again).

Go to the shop and buy a loaf. Or make pita bread.

No wait, definitely Humus - French Tree Worshipping Black Metal. That's what they called themselves...

Don't use a breadmaker for it. They can't handle it. You'll need to do it properly or with a machine with a dough hook. You can't overwork the dough, but it's very easy to make it too dry. It's going to need a LOT of working. Lots more than normal. Other than that I can't suggest a recipe other than to get some gluten free flour and try a normal bread recipe.

I agree with Rich except for using a normal bread recipe. You need to find one designed to use gluten free flour because the texture of it is so different to normal flour. There'll be loads of decent ones online.

Got a bread tin, the flour and yeast. Will let you all know when we make it how it turns out. It could go in the happy thread, or the one that made us laugh!

I've got my music writing as part of my CV, so it's inevitable that I mention it in a couple of other places. However, I've steered clear of 'metal' precisely because of the connotations some people have. If people are interested in it, they'll ask about it (which has actually happened in all interviews I've had - I was actually told one of the reasons I got my current job was because they found my sideline of music writing and my interest in rock really intriguing; presumably, on top of that, I was qualified for the job but whatevs).

Anyone have any experience recording from an sm57? I accidentally recorded with the the mic gain *WAY* too high and I think it may be buggered. Low frequencies are peaking on volume and high frequencies completely cut out.

You can see where the peaks are on that.

Does anyone else have problems with strong sun light or bright lights/lamps causing migraines, irritated eyes, or blind spots? I'm having to wear sunglasses indoors today even though I have the blinds drawn to avoid the above.

Someone I went to school with did. She had to wear glasses with yellow lenses for a bit. Seemed to work though.

Sensitivity to light is a symptom of migraines but I don't think they cause them though. I don't think there's much you can do apart from take some pain medication and get some rest, is there? Maybe you can take solace from that it can't be as bad as the time I had eye surgery on a bright summer's day! I had two black hoodies wrapped around my head and my eyes but when I opened my eyes it felt like there was someone shining a torch in my face

Can any of you computer types answer this one:

Is there a way to get DVD's onto a computer, or preferably, an iPad? Got a few that I wouldn't mind putting on, especially for when I travel etc.

Help would be appreciated!
