Started when I was like 16, so about 6 years now. Though I don't really listen to much of it anymore.

It comes on shuffle on winamp and I'm like "man this is awesome, I should listen to metal again", and then end up listening to Tom Waits or the Les Miserables soundtrack or motown or something.

What's the definition we're going for here? I don't make it a lifestyle, so I might as well say I've been 'into' metal since I was 10.

How many years has everyone been into metal then? 4 years of the proper stuff myself  Not a veteran by any mean I know

It is an empiric Fact that it is impossible to have too much cheese. Anyone who says otherwise is not telling the truth...but for the record, Edam and Gouda do not qualify as cheese....rubbery tasteless nonsense....and bree equally does not qualify on the basis that it is super thick tasteless yoghurt.

As for metal, I guess I started in about 1978...(tho most of that probably qualifies as hard rock these days) so 35 years....tho like Fjar, this is a taste in music rather than a lifestyle....

Brie, Edam and Gouda are heavenly.

As for metal got into it about the time bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon, Motorhead, Priest, etc started to get played regularly on the radio and TOTP around 1980ish. Grew up with music around the house anyway as my Dad is a massive Bob Dylan and blues fan, and my older Brother was a punk when he was a teenager.

You may have good taste in music, but your taste in cheese is debatable!

Still, to paraphrase Noodles sig....if cheese tastes good, eat it

Edit..noticed that Noodles sig has changed after posting this!

Not a huge fan of Brie, but every other cheese is fucking awesome.

EDIT: ESPECIALLY breaded baked camembert. With cranberry sauce. OMFG!

Been into metal since I was 14 (largely Pantera and Metallica at the time, as well as Limp Bizkit, Coal Chamber, Kittie, Korn... man they were the days) - so that's 14 years I've been into metal.

On top of that, I've been into punk since I was 13 I think... bought Americana from The Offspring soon after it came out.
Who the hell reads anything in sigs these days, unless it's an animated gif?

I've been into metal since I was 12. I got into it via the black album and Maiden's Fear Of The Dark, also Pantera and Sepultura. I love it now as much as I did then. Maybe more so!

Got into hard rock/metal when I heard Thin Lizzy in 1996. I was 5 and my Dad played it to me. He gave me a compilation CD with Meat Loaf, Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Rainbow, Queen etc on and I was sold from then on. Got into heavy heavy metal when I was about 13. Kind of lost interest in the genre a few years ago but still enjoy listening to it.

I was also about 4-5 when I started hearing metal. Always been a fan of bands like Maiden , Rush etc, I saw Maiden when I was 6, and Rush when I was 10 haha!

I have only recently discovered Thrash and Death metal...and a few days ago, some Black metal.

25 years, bought Maiden's Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son on tape the week it came out and never looked back.
