Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread
I have decided to do the 30 day squat challenge. Anyone fancy doing it with me?

Weighted or not?
I used to be able to squat 1 1/2 body weight before I lost most of my strength
Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

I would if I hadn't promised myself never to set foot in a weights room again!

Because I figured out that I never actually enjoyed doing it and I had a tendency to overdo it!

Ah ok, fair enough. I've only just got into it properly and I LOVE IT! I love having visible tricep muscles :3

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread
Been working hard on strength at the gym lately and stuff seems to be looking up. I weight 78kg and am getting:
Deadlift - 180kg
Squat - 150kg
Bench - 110kg
15 Wide-grip Pull-ups
Really need to work on cardio and getting my stamina up but its so bloody boring!
Oh and tried that Shaun T insanity thing, sweatiest I've ever been in my life

That's impressive.
I used to have a link to a social networking site here but these days you all probably already know who I am.

I was going to say yes, then I saw that day 1 is 50! I'd struggle with even that amount, aghh. I'm so unfit it's ridiculous
edit: sod it, I'll give it a go anyway!

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread
Yeah I'm happy with the strength gains I've made but I seriously don't look like I can lift anything like that. Just find that putting on size and actually gaining weight is the hardest thing ever! Only gone up like 3kg in a year and I must be getting at least 3500 cals on most days. Train in a 6-12 rep range on most stuff except for compound strength shit. Where am I going wrong?!

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread
I seem to be lucky in the aspect of, if I wanna slim down to having near visible abs (where its starting to cut but only just) I can, but I also can lift a lot and put on a fair bit of muscle when I want. Last time I was in the Gym at the start of the year I was on:
Bench: 85kg
Leg Press: 180kg(maxed machine, 4 reps)
Shoulders:40kg
Calf Raise:Max(think it was like 150?)
Curl:15kg
Nothing special, but I tend to do ok if I ever go.

Anyone read The Times article on Saturday about weightlifting?
