It's great being able to tense muscles you couldn't before. Squats rule.

Eh, I hate doing 5x5 squats. I feel great after, but I fucking hate squats.
Deadlifts all the way, man.
On that note, that sound you hear is me smashing PRs all over the place.

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread
They're all great. I've not suffered from squats at all, in fact my mate preached to me about how it would improve the problem I had with my knees and since taking it on, it's gone away.
Deadlifts I don't do enough of, but my form is a bit shaky and I've needed more guidance and correction from said mate with that than with squats. Need to make sure I don't fuck myself up.
Do wish I could afford to go to a quieter gym so I can more likely use whatever I wanna use as and when I want it.

Yeah, deadlifts take a while to get the form right, but they're so satisfying when you're lifting really heavy. I don't get pain from squats, they're just so much fucking effort

After a self imposed vodka related stall over Christmas, back on track now. In the next 5lb, I'll hit 3 good goals. 1lb away from 80lb down overall, 2lb away from being under 18 stone, and 5lb away from 6 stone lost overall. Exciting times incoming.

Congrats Joe!
Well the gym is going well for me, although deciding to do spin classes has made me draw parallels between my own mental well being and Simon Pegg's in "run Fat boy, run"

Finally fully lost the weight I gained over the last year, now at 67.3Kg (130lbs for any imperialists ) and can bench a full 8 rep set of 60kg, which isn't much, but knowing I could 1rep max more than my bodyweight is nice
Stomach also finally looking alright again, a 6-pack would be proper tough with my bodyshape though.

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread
Sooo I was looking through my camera roll on my laptop and found a picture from last year that helps to put things into context. Took a pic just now for comparison.
Before and after:

32lbs lost scaling back and cleaning up my diet, thinking of joining a gym that a couple of folk at work go to in order to build some muscle.

One month later, turns out a 6 pack for me would be just about possible as I'm starting to get dents in the right places for it

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread
Kept wondering what was up with some pictures of me from our last gig and wondering why I looked different. Turns out my neck is filling out. I'm slightly perturbed by this.
Also Charlotte, looking good!
