Nantha, I don't think there's any reason to suggest the tobacco companies actually created them. In fact, I reckon they're terrified of seeing their profits plumet because it seems more and more folk are converting.

Yeah they're good those things. A mate of mine used to smoke like 40-50 a day until he started vaping. I think he's only had a handful of cigs at festivals and the like in the two years since.

Sega were unlucky by gambling all their money on the Dreamcast the year before the PS2. Nintendo have kind of brought it upon themselves by just releasing the Mario, Zelda, Wii Sports and Metroid bunch all the time.

Nintendo seem to the aim themselves at the casual gamer market. Unfortunately, that's exactly who buys the least amount of games.

Hmm I was reading about Wii U (for context, I know very little about video games in this century) and how Nintendo's share of the market is ever dwindling. Made me feel a bit sad that Sega and now possibly Nintendo seem to be dinosaurs.

Didn't they do really well with the Wii?

Not sure how the Wii U will go down, looks really peculiar to me.

I remember the days when Atari and Amstrad were in the console market.
