Re: What has made you happy today
Got into the top 3% for my age group overall and the top 10% in each of the five disciplines on Lumosity.
All right, so I MADE a mistake! ONE MISTAKE!
Can't a man start over?! Do I have to keep on PAYING?! HUH?!
Maybe I should make another mistake! ...maybe TWO more!

If there is ever a contraceptive malfunction drastic enough to lead to me siring children, I shall be sure to tell them tales of the gig I attended tonight. Fuck me, that was special!

My new cardigan is very good at keeping me toasty at work.
A pair of good gloves and I'm sorted.

The stars here. Holy fuck. Apparently tonight isn't even that great for the stars, but I can properly see the goddamn Milky Way.

Re: What has made you happy today
Managed to rescue a friendship with someone who broke my heart not so long ago, finally seem to be okay with seeing her and her new fella together, and she said some really lovely things about me giving it a proper go with the Welsh Woman too.
Aside from that had a really great night. Went to one of my favourite old bars (great local ale selection, permanent funk of whiskey malt, pictures of Samuel Beckett and Barry McGuigan everywhere...) and then discovered a new one. It used to be a dive of a karaoke bar for mid-40's people, but has changed name now and is just the right balance of trendy/quirky and old school. All in all I tried 5 beers and one whiskey that were completely new to me and got to hear some deadly tunes (the guy's playing bear a scary resemblance to Phil Lynott and Eric Bell so a Thin Lizzy number was of course in order.)
I'm looking forward to hitting up some cool places again tonight. Taking my Aussie cousin and his missus on a tour round the town and getting some money from my Granda for expenses.

Kind of ironic when the man himself has never touched a drink in his life

I may or may not have stolen an office chair from a skip at the back of the college, and I may or may not have taken it home with me.
Best day ever.

I dunno, your national sports seem to be drinking and fighting, and whilst he's not much of a drinker he was one hell of a fighter

Re: What has made you happy today
I did a slight workout before, not a bad start, hoping to increase my reps by one every day. I've done five reps today, so six tomorrow, so on.

Re: What has made you happy today
Yeah but George Best and Norman Whiteside proved you could be a great drinker and a great soccer player, and Alex Higgins proved the same with snooker. Roy Keane proved it with drinking, fighting and soccer!
Anyway, just got The Psychadelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators and Jerusalem by Jerusalem on LP for £36 including postage from the states. Shame I have to give it to my grandparents to wrap for me for christmas.
