Out of interest, how the hell did Dark Fortress end up being the first metal band you got into?

My progression into metal was something along the linea of this.

Nirvana/Soundgaren/Pearl Jam>Metallica/Pantera>Slayer/Sepultura>Death/Black Metal>Doom/Power/the rest...

Mulled wine and shortbread at the garden centre Christmas shop this morning. French toast topped with almond butter, caramelized cinnamon bananas and fresh cream for lunch. Steak and Old Peculiar pie and mash for dinner. Today has been a fucking delicious day.

Actually lots of things. First is my eyes do not require any stronger prescription. I sorted two pairs of glasses out because even I admit that I do wear my contacts a little too much (you know going from about 6ish when I wake up to when I finally decide to piss off to bed), so they're on order. I went some wear else to get my glasses because Boots are a fucking rip off. For the same price this other place I got two pairs basically.

Also this is my first post using my Razer keyboard, and ITS FUCKING MIIIIINT.


Unfortunately it won't improve my dodgy grammar and spelling, but all of the COLOURS.

My dad likes metal, and I never really took a whole lot of interest. He was playing Through Ages of War at some point and I thought it sounded really good, he did me a CDR of their first album, and I borrowed the second when I could. I guess following that I just looked for all the black metal he had. Other than a few others like Sabbath, Maiden, early metallica, megadeth, slayer, I never really listened to anything mellow til I was like 16. I was listening to Vondur, Wyrd, Drudkh, Nile and Behexen (and the obvious second wave groups) before I ever knew who Dio, Motorhead or Deep Purple were.

Managers christmas do was ace. I drank everything and ate everything and danced till 3am. Still hammered.

One of the best sleeps I have had in yonks. Actually glad I woke up to be honest, 9 hours is nearly at that point where it becomes a permanent thing.


Also I opened all my birthday stuff a day early as I am out and about tomorrow for a gig and my dad is at work so we chose a time we're all at home to do that. Got a bit of cash about me to continue with the PC build, and six new pairs of socks which is something I always seem to be desperate for! Also going out for a family meal in about an hour. Should be good.
