I hated my time on the dole, being treated like a complete waster is not
my idea of fun! I always got a proper bollocking off them for some minor
thing.

I've had two long spells on the dole and they rank among the worst experiences of my life. It's wholly unpleasant waking up at four in the afternoon because you've bugger all to do and knowing you've got bugger all done again. Like you said, it's soul destroying dealing with people looking down their noses at you. Whether it was pity or contempt, only a total dosser could be unaffected by it.

Don't get me started on New Deal.

I only intend to milk the system of a few weeks worth of pay then I should be able to jump into a job in Airbus with me Pa lol

Believe it or not no.
And most gals don't, and the guys I know are no better.
I know, shock horror.
My best mate switches off whenever I mention anything scifi related. (some people have no taste!)

I know girls who have never even seen a Star Wars film. How do you go through life and never see a Star Wars film, even if you know you won't like it? :?

I've wondered that many times! Silly thing is I've been watching them before and those people who say they don't like it seem actually sit and watch bits of of it and say 'this is actually quite good' but won't watch the entire thing!

One of my ex's was really against Star Trek, I made her watch one of my fave episodes (the DS9 one when O'Brien is 'imprisoned' for a crime, and struggles to deal with returning to normal life), and she really enjoyed it. Still refuses to watch any other episodes though!!! :x

An ex brought me the "best of jean Luc Pickard".
I have a slight crush on Patrick Stewart so it's like soft porn for me.

The most hardcore Trekker I ever met was female. I've also told that there's a lot of young women at conventions these days.
Having said that, a lot of people, and a fair few women in particular, seem to have this massive phobia of anything remotely fantastical.

I'm quite partial to Star Trek too.

Anyway, today I got a RIGHT bargan in Tesco. They were selling pop-up tents at about £40 originally, but they reduced them to £29. I though, "Hey that's good. I'll get one." So I pick it up, take it to the checkout and have it scanned in only to see the price listed as an AMAZING £8.97!!!

Turns out that all the summer stuff has been reduced to clear, tents included. So I got a £40 for less than nine quid! :D:D:D
