Powerplay hasn't got a forum, just a pair of links to it that send you back to the homepage :lol:

As for the Terrorizer thread, there are some very good points made in there, but none that we haven't already seen before on this forum.

Making a valid point and being an arsehole doesn't have to go hand in hand though. I won't deny some points are good, but the presentation needs serious work.

One of the highlights of any working day is the bit when my co-workers sod off. Which the last of them has just done so now I get to listen to music that isn't Simply Red.

I thought the replies were reasonable but it was the thread starter's response that tickled me: "You don't like these bands so you don't like metal!"

That's why it's in this thread: the daftness of his e-strop. :lol:

Said friend's going to Supersonic tomorrow so I'm going to meet him in Highgate for a quick drink and have another good laugh at it. :)

Reading a book about the history of id Software called 'Masters of Doom'.

It's a blast!

The title alone makes me want to read it.

Best read I've had in ages. Plenty of metal refrences too! And you'll learn all about the development of the Commander Keen games and how id development cycle was basically sit around doing 'art room' stuff until John Carmack did something really ace.

Posted this in the PR forum but decided to post it here too;

Right, the other day a friend links me to this because it's catchy as hell;

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 4834931928

And it is, you've got to admit :p

However, being the perpetually bored person that I am I decided to look the guy up on wikipedia, and I find out that he, Jaunes, was the vocalist/guitarist from this band;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmhEypzE ... ed&search=

Which is fucking thrashtastic hahaha :twisted:

Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen such a change of direction met with apparent mainstream success (in those countries where he is popular). Sure we have people like Bon Jovi or G'n'R who have done 'rock' that also crossed over into the charts and stuff, but this is just... weird!

Finding that connection made my day :lol:

To ape a theme: If you don't read CJ Sansom's Sovereign, you don't like books. :P

I also found this clip from a film made in 1986, called crossroads. Did anyone ever see it?? Used to love that film.

Link isn't working for me LUB, but I assume you mean the "blues" film with Ralph Macchio?

Legendary scene at the end with Steve Vai and the Karate Kid mixing it up, providing one of the most often played "may I help you" riffs still used in guitar shops today :lol:

In fact, Youtube has the duel in it's entirity right here!
