Got bored so google'd Kircubbin. Across the Stranford Lough there's a place called Balloo

Did alright on the whiskey front this xmas, 35cl bottle of Glenlivet, selection of 5cl Famous Grouse/Grant's/Teachers. I think Neil Slater trumps us all with what he got, though.

You know I clean forgot about Balloo being a village. More of a hamlet really between Killinchy and Saintfield. When people say Balloo I think of the industrial estate in Bangor. Or the bear from The Jungle Book, obviously.

Oh and what do you know. Bottom of the first page of google results for Kircubbin is an article about child abuse in the old parochial house!

My new manager (well, she's been my manager for 3 months now) is pretty excellent. Christmas week was absolutely the worst week of my working life, but with my old manager it would have been much worse. It's good to have someone who not only knows what they're doing, but is there to help when needed no matter how busy she is.
Also I'm fucking off to Florida on Monday so plenty to be happy about.

What was supposed to be a quiet nye ended up being an insane session that lasted till 8am. Also not feeling half as bad as I was expecting to. Winning.

So my job has slowly been getting worse and worse, fucking with me mentally in a horrendous way, been abusing too many substances as a means of escape recently. My parents have said they'll float me for two months so I can leave. Bring on March.

That's awesome to hear Ania, whenever you've posted it sounded like a right shitter.

Also 10/10 to your parents.

Booked on for the EMP Hellfest roadtrip, got a deposit down yesterday. Lineup is just too good for my tastes to wait for my friends to make up their goddamn minds. If they don't come more fool them.

Same with Netherlands Death Fest, should get flight and AirBnB booked over coming days. Don't mind travelling by myself if it comes to it, had some great holidays on my own when everyone else has been useless. Bring on the Autopsy.

Good shit. 2 months is ample time to find work as well, and you can afford to be somewhat picky. Then again, I don't know your experience but it's definitely a positive.

On the subject of jobs, I've made a damn good impression somewhere (and that was after an interview somewhere else that went well but I didn't really like the place) so I've been invited back on Monday for a sort of 'taster' 1-2 hour sesh, aaaand have a telephone pre-interview with another company on Tuesday. I'm probably jinxing it or something but I'm liking my chances.

All through the ass end of last year my band were getting no luck getting any shows anywhere. In the last 10 days I've managed to get us 4 shows, one of which is in Camden as local support for the start of a tour, and we have dates when we're recording EP.
Everything is happening. Finally

My Richie Blackmore ticket arrived today - I wasn't confident about the agency I bought off, but it all turned out OK
