My bottle of perfume smashed in my Holdall.

I have glass all over clothes and the whole thing stinks of perfume and the only place you can buy the perfume is Selfridges, HoF and John Lewis and they are all out of stock.

I need to use the Holdall again this weekend and despite my greatest effort to get all the glass out I am paranoid everytime I put hand in that I will get cut :(

But then you'll come back with all the knowledge that's perfect for this conversation! :P

Yeah, I've just done one, but I think it's a pretty common thing these days.
I got the option of a fine and 3 points or no points and a course which cost 15 quid or so less than the fine, so it was no contest really.
The course itself, however was fucking excruciating, 4 hours of being talked to like a kid in a room full of people, most of them in their 40s and 50s who had zero desire to be there either.

Where the whole 'telling your insurance company' thing stands, no you don't need to. It's run by the local police who have absolutely nothing to do with your insurance company and won't contact them unless you refuse the course, if you do the course the charges get dropped and your insurance company is none the wiser.

Four hours?

I can barely sit still for five minutes. This isn't going to end well.

Might rattle my car keys at the 1 hour mark. That shall cut the meeting short a bit. Tossing my empties over my shoulder leaving the building.

Depends on your policy - on the course I did, they said you didn't have to notify your insurance company, but some now have it in their policies, pretty sure Admiral were the first and it got in the news.

If you do the course, then get caught again, you get the three point applied retrospectively aswell as the new 3 new points.

I didn't know you have to contact your insurers :? 0 I got caught a month or so ago doing 46 in a 40mph (one of those temporary ones on the motorway). Since then I've been insanely careful, which is definitely a good thing. I still don't believe in sticking to speed limits 100% of the time, though.

EDIT: Just saw the other posts. Phew.
