Loads of ones that look reasonable end up having the wrong grade requirements or being in a generally shit part of the country

I am similarly cross with UCAS and uni application..
the Oxford uni site is SO unhelpful, and it doesnt help that my head of year is a rude, unhelpful sod, who thinks its more productive to have a go at me than actually help me.
Also, I'm stuck on my personal statement, and this whole thing has to be submitted by the 14th Oct! >_<

Sky TV installers saying they'll come round on Friday to get us going, then changing their mind and saying all their engineers are training that day and they'll do it tomorrow. I'm far too busy at work to get the time off, I'm swamped while my colleague expects a half-day's worth of work done yesterday with about five minute's notice.

I have to wait until the 18th now.

I know your pain :( my interests are far too specific and no one can cater for me so I'm gonna have to do something I don't want. Also my lack of topnotch grades don't help :ugh:

My 6 month old 32" TV decided to die this morning, and its out of warranty, and its not covered by my insurance.

COCK.

*edit

Scratch that, I rang up the place I bought it from just on the off chance they could help and they've suddenly decided it is in warranty, I suspect its because they now sell the same model TV with a years warranty, but when I bought it it was only a month. Hurrah for them being slightly foolish.
I'm still a touch nervous about it though, this is the 2nd time I've returned this model of TV, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it happened again, next time I'm buying a brand name.

Aren't all electrical goods covered by a statutory years warranty?

Everything you buy has to be fit for use for a 'reasonable time', regardless of the store's own 'warranty'. This isn't defined and can be up to 6 years, but a TV should be expected to last more than 6 months, whether a well known brand or not.
