Going to bed around 2.30am only to lay there for 3 hours... just decided to get back up as i started to get bored and agitated.

I've had the same problem- for years. How come you can become immune to the antihistamines but not the pollen
For the last three years I've been using a 'medinose' which basically is two light tubes whch you stick up your nose and the light emits a frequency which over rides histamine production. Sounds crazy but it works. Mine cost £75 but you can now get them for £25, and I think I've had three batteries in it which has cost a lot less than over the counter remedies. Check it out on the net.
It takes a few days of twice daily three minute sessions to be really effective but has no side effects- other than doing Rudolf Impressions. No sleepiness, dry mouth etc. and yes, it even stops your eyes itching
