But by that logic anyone who has even one drink should be feeling like a terrible person for getting behind the wheel.

Yup! They should have a zero tolerance policy on it really. Alcohol is a great scourge of society.
Re: What pissed you off today
My ex girlfriend's brother died after being involved in a drink driving accident. After seeing the devastating effect it had on their family I am very much a believer in the zero tolerance policy. If you've got enough spare money to go out and have a drink, you've got enough for a taxi home as far as I can see it.

Sure I don't condone drink-driving but I can tell when I'm not suitable to drive and last night was not one of those nights. Of course any drink can alter reactions etc but then so can lack of sleep, lack of food, amounts of caffiene.
I'm pretty sure most people on here are reacting to the drink not the headlight, and out of drinking and driving you're much better off deciding which you're doing that evening than trying to do a little bit of both.

Prohibition notice.
I know somebody with two drink driving convictions. On each occasion they claim to have 'only had two'. So two is enough to put you over. As Fjar said, alcohol affects driving even if you're below the BAC limit. Just not worth the risk!

I've said this before, but I'll say it again. Object orientation is the bane of maintainable code.

Only to those who can't code, maybe
Who the hell reads anything in sigs these days, unless it's an animated gif?
Re: What pissed you off today
I find the Assassin's Creed games really dull, but my flatmate loves them. Anyway, he completed Black Flag yesterday and I was really happy about that, because it (theoretically) meant he'd be off them for a while.
He's just restarted the story on Assassin's Creed 3.
Can't say anything because it's his tv in the living room, but it's a pain because my TV doesn't receive, well, TV. It's only good for my PS3. Would rather not have to spend all my time in my room, but seems I'll have to!

I've been writing code for 30 years, and professionally for 20 of those. I'm pretty confident in my coding abilities...

You might be yes, but what I meant was that shit coders who write unmaintainable OOP are the problem.

Newspapers constantly doing all these 'WHAT YOU SHOULD NEVER EAT', 'FADDY DIET 101', '150 WAYS TO LOSE FAT TODAY' bullshit columns that are starting to get to me.

It's bullshit. Knowing about nutrition and exercise is a lot easier than any papers or mags would let on.
