Not being sure if I entered the Congestion Charge zone yesterday, I rang them up to enquire only to be told they cannot tell me if I have entered the area and they suggest I check it on the map and if I think I have entered to pay by midnight today else get a fine.
If I didn't enter the zone and pay it, it is non-refundable and if I did enter the zone and don't pay by midnight it's a £100 fine (reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days)
She was quite happy to tell me about the fines and how they are issued the next day, yet still could not tell me if I'd entered the zone. Apparently the onus is on me to know if I have entered the CC zone or not, which is fair enough apart from the fact that whilst driving in Central London my main priority is keeping the vehicle in one piece and not looking for C signs!!!
