My surprise film of the Year was Snow White And The Huntsman, I live that film, Charlize Theron is brilliant in it, and it's pretty dark too,

Anyone know when Cloud atlas is out on DVD?

This surely cannot be

Far from reality
Delving into depths

Watched the Hobbit the other day, was even better than I expected and the 3D was very good.

My list for the year:

1. Avengers
2. Dark Knight Rises
3. Hunger Games
4. The Hobbit
5. Amazing Spiderman
6. Prometheus
7. Underworld Awakening
8. American Pie Reunion
9. Ted
10. John Carter

Haven't watched Expendables 2, Men In Black 3 or Skyfall yet though.

Worst 5:

1. Detention
2. V/H/S
3. Inbred
4. Total Recall
5. Piranha 3DD

Detention and Inbred were both 2011, so they're not technically elligible...agree they were both utter, utter shit though.

I quike liked V/H/S though, don't normally like hand-held cam films, but V/H/S did it pretty well, certainly better than the hideous Paranormal Activity 4.

V/H/S was one of the biggest pieces of shit I've ever seen.

Me and my mate were watching it. First film we've ever turned off half way through.

It's getting a february theatrical release in the UK first...probably won't hit DVD until the summer.

Saw The Hobbit today, excellent. Don't know what all this 48fps fuss was about, wouldn't have even realised it if I hadn't been told. I'm not a huge fan of 3D but it was impressive ( although as ever I'm not sure the film would be any the worse without it ). The 3 hours fair flew by though. Probably slide it into second place behind The Avengers in my year end list.

Apparently I didn't watch The Hobbit in 48fps. I watched 'normal 3D' as opposed to the HDR version. Hi ho - it looked good to me!

IIRC, only the Imax showings are in 48fps. I can't see how it would make a difference anyway.
