This, though it's a fucktonne better than Oblivion.
It is basically Groundhog Day with aliens and shooting and Emily Blunt, but yeah, good fun.

I reckon EoT should have included the line "Watch that first step...it's a doozie" each time Tom went back to the start of the day.
All right, so I MADE a mistake! ONE MISTAKE!
Can't a man start over?! Do I have to keep on PAYING?! HUH?!
Maybe I should make another mistake! ...maybe TWO more!

EDGE OF TOMORROW

Like I thought from the trailer, it's basically Tom Cruise stars in Groundhog Day with aliens. Surprisingly enjoyable though, with good action scenes and some genuinely funny moments. You know how it will finish pretty much straight away, but its good fun getting there.

OCULUS

Karen Gillan battles a spooky mirror and an American accent.
Not bad, but as is usual with horror films these days, starts falling apart towards the end. Not gory enough, not scary enough, not sexy enough.
Yet still one of the better horror movies I've seen recently.

The Wolf Of Wall Street 8.5/10

Really enjoyable with plenty of funny elements and it runs at a good pace. Does start to drag a little towards the end but that's the only time you'll notice it's near 3 hour length.

Just finished reading the book and there's so much more they could have put in. His time in rehab could easily have added another hour onto the running length and I wouldn't have cared.

Dark Skies: Actually wasn't too shit. Not too much happens, but not in a bad way. 7/10

Warm Bodies: Awesome. But that's because I like that kinda movie. An indie rom zom com (I now hate myself). Nailed being a zombie movie, being funny, and being an indie romatic comedy. Possibly one of my new favourite movies 9/10

JOYRIDE 3

Remember Rusty Nail, the mad trucker with a CB radio voiced by Ted (Silence of the Lambs) Levine? Well, he's back. Sort of anyway. Levine didn't bother returning for the first sequel and he certainly couldn't be bothered with this latest desperate-for-a-new-horror-franchise instalment. Instead we have Ken Kirzinger, better known as Jason Voorhees from Freddy vs Jason.
Now, while Kirzinger certainly cuts an imposing figure on the screen, much like other Jason Voorhees, Kane Hodder, his acting skills really aren't up to much, his voice completely lacking all the menace that came with Levine's original Rusty.

This is a terrible, terrible film where you actually find yourself siding with the homicidal maniac as he offs a load of whiny, arrogant, cocky twenty-somethings as they drive around in a flashy fast car. In fact, from the moment film begins, you are somehow expected to care about the fate of two meth smoking junkies. You don't.
They die.
You'll shrug and say "good".
I don't think they meant for that reaction.

The gore isn't even up to much (some foam latex fingers being shoved into a fan probably being the highlight), and it's not even remotely scary. In fact, the scariest thing about it is how they seem determined to turn Rusty into another version of the Jigsaw killer from Saw, even ending with the whole thing set up for yet another sequel.

"Any idea why he would want to hurt you and your friends?"
"Because he's a psychopath".
Classic stuff right there.

The last was clearly there just to shock. I think I'll give this a miss.

We watched Sharknado the other night. What a bag of shit that film was. I couldn't even say it was so bad it was good, I think it was so bad it was fucking terrible. Only thing it succeeded in doing is notifying the public how old and haggered Tara Reid now looks.

I think I managed to get through 10 minutes of it before I turned it off, I can't believe they've stretched it to 3 films now.
