Burly ex-metaller type Thor stars as a metal singer who takes his band to a farmhouse where they all get slaughtered. The monsters are sock-puppets except for the big baddie who is obviously a dummy being dragged around the room.

Hard Rock Zombies

Hard Rock band - who sound like Europe without the screaming guitars - get murdered by rednecks then come back from the dead and unleash a plague of zombies. Hitler's in it too.

They sound amazing.

I need to play the drinking game based on that.
You have to have a drink when:

- A character has a drink
- someone combs their hair
- someone says "lock 'n' loll"
- someone's head gets blown off
- something explodes
- fires shoots out of something

That would be quite a lot of drinks if my memory of the film serves me correctly.

We watched it in film studies, it's probably the best film ever made anywhere in the world at any time.

It's just so much fun you gotta love it! It's totally dumb and stupid, but there's so much action, speed and explosions that it doesn't matter at all!

Another low budget comedy/horror with delusions of grandeur. It tries to be so many things that, unfortunately, it fails to be anything. It's a teen comedy, it's a teen romance, it's a zombie movie, it's a slapstick zombie movie, it's a socially aware eco movie and it's Troma meets Sam Raimi but with only an ounce of the style.
Basically, it's a bunch of American high school stereotypes (nerds, jocks, rebels and cheerleaders) teaming up with a teacher to fight zombies.
4/10.

Elvis (Bruce Campbell) is actually not dead and growing old in a retirement home with the Lone Ranger and JFK who believes he was captured and dyed black by the FBI to protect his identity. A mummy on its way to a museum is stolen by crooks and lives in the grounds of the retirement home sucking the souls from the arses of patrons there. Cue much, much hilarity. One of the best comedies I've seen in ages.
