Re: movies
just read that review from the Dail Mail...
what a joke. the last line has to be my favourite part
'And in Hit-Girl, the film-makers have created one of the most disturbing icons and damaging role-models in the history of cinema.'

Re: movies
I believe Germany gets heavily censored games as well. Their version of carmageddon wasn't allowed to have red blood, so they changed all the padestrians into aliens, and I think manhunt is still banned there.
According to wiki, possesion of a copy on manhunt is an offence in New Zealand...

Yeah, a lot of countries can be quite strict. When you think about it, we're very lucky.

Re: movies

the spiderman reboot
so in other words, we are making it shit and to appeal to children rather than adults.

The reboot film is scheduled to be released in summer 2012 and will focus on Peter Parker developing his abilities in high school

Re: movies
Of to see Clash Of The Titans today, going in with the the full intention of not comparing it to the original & hoping it's just a lot of fun.
I shall report back later.

Re: movies
Watched Blood Simple last night, figured I'd give it a bit of a review
Well, first off, it is the first film made by the Coen Brothers, back in 1985. It's a film noir,
The film revolves around a bar manager named Ray, his Boss, Marty, and Marty's wife Abby. Abby and Ray are suspected by Marty to be having an affair, and so he hires a private detective to get proof of their relationship, and murder them for $10,000. He goes to Ray's house, and takes a picture of Abby and Ray asleep in bed together. He doctors the photograph to make it look like they've been murdered, before going to the bar, collecting the $10,000. Everything starts to go wrong from then on, but perhaps not in the ways you would think.
From then on anything said would simply ruin the film. It's a classic Coen film. Intertwined plots, lots of twists, and everything going wrong for the main characters.
Interesting film, very good, I must say.

Just got back from "Clash of the Titans." Entertaining but could have been better.
On the plus side, the visuals are spectacular, there's a decent amount of action and the odd flash of humour. Liam Neeson makes a good Zeus too.
Gripes: The male lead spent the entire film trying to do a Russell Crowe impression and the ending had me going "Err...what?"

Re: movies
Just got back form seeing kick Ass. It was... well, pretty kick ass.
Probably one of the best films I've seen for a long time
Also got a ticket to go see Michael Moore's latest escapade, even if it does look to even more communist-tastic republican bashing than the previous ones were. Going to an indy cinema by myself to see an anti-capitalist documentary, fuck yeah I'm cool
