Just opened the Jason Statham boxset I got got Christmas and watched the first of the films "The Bank Job".
Not as much in the action/shooting that you get from the typical Statham films but good story and keeps you on the toes throughout. Good film I thought.

Taken 2 Harder Cut is definitely better than the cinema version, good sequel but no classic 7/10

Saw Gangster Squad last night. Awesome gangster flick with plenty of violence, really good performances and Emma Stone. Fuck yeah.

Just watched the full length trailer for Fast 6 actually looks like a good action/chase film and a step in the right direction from the previous film. Now if only we can forget the second and third film exist.

Also watched the blu ray of Universal Soldier. Clearly a straight rip from the dvd but it was pretty good quality.

Thought the last F&F was ok given how bad the previous 3 were - the heist element gave it a lift (apparently written as a sequel to the Italian Job remake) and the big scenes were well staged.

Last time i went to Liverpool, several streets were shut off because they were filming No 6 there.

I've actually enjoyed every F&F movie, some were better than others, but all very watchable dumb fun

Kinell, this one got panned by all quarters, it's on my list of "if it's on the tv one night in the future I may force myself to watch it" ;)

Exactly
I usually follow the way of the Kermode but get 2nd opinions at Rotten Tomatoes to back up his rants.

I find the only opinion I have to worry about is my own, Kermode is a good reviewer, but he analyzes too much, and can't tell me if my tastes will suit the film

Weird, me and my mates really enjoyed it.
I suppose if you look at it as a serious film then yeah, it makes sense to get some criticism.
But as a fun gangsters 'n guns film, it was great. People need to switch their brains off more.

My thoughts exactly, I have a mate who picks holes in every scene, I can't watch films with him any more
