Yeah, Empire might be an idea for me, since I do wanna get more into the whole film thing again. I haven't added a new one to my collection in quite some time. :)

Not for eleven years now.
Shame, I used to love that magazine.

Another "Limited Release Only" Disney cash-in. Not available in the shops any more but there are a few on Ebay going for around £15.

Yeah. I would think it's likely they'll be released "for a limited time only" again in the future, I just can't be arsed to wait that long!

I haven't tried ebay though - thanks for that, I shall nosey later :)

I ignore most stuff the TV tells me about films, as I find they miss a lot out and/or only focus on what hot actor/actress is starring. Instead, I read about them in Empire or on various websites, using IMDB as a base point for searches.[/quote]

I would like reading Empire a lot more if they didn't assume that their readership was 99% male. Pisses me right off, that does.

I find out about films online, super hero hype is one of my favourite internet calling points.

Empire disappeared up it's own self-congratulating arsehole over ten years ago. Occasionally I'll pick an issue up and if it wasn't so damned expensive it would hit the bin before even reading half of it.
Total Film has been heading down that same route for a few years now.

Watched Hurt Locker and Up today.
Hurt Locker was quite... disappointing to be honest. Didn't really know what to expect before we started watching but I thought there would be much more of a story line in it. Acting and all that was really good and it all looked very realistic but it kind of felt like I missed the first 10 minutes and end, even though I clearly didn't.

Up was surprisingly ace. More humour in it than I thought there would be. Would definitely recommend it.

IMDB is a good start point, but there's a lot of false information on there (and info about upcoming releases can only be seen if you're paying for IMDBPro, which I don't). There's also way too much bitching on the message boards about films before they even come out. If I see info about a film that looks interesting, I'll then google it and look at the news articles from websites like Bloody-Disgusting.

Also I'm watching Roadhouse. Pretty decent '80s movie that's essentially Patrick Swayze kicking the shit out of the same people for almost 2 hours.

On their way from LoveFilm:
Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds
Street Trash
