Yeah that's why I am really looking forward to the new movie, more than the first

Rumour seems to be that Thor 2 will visit all 9 worlds, including Earth. It's being directed by someone who has worked on Game of Thrones too so I'm looking forward to it. Only concern is it could try to do too much.

I'm a huge fan of Cap, I know a lot of people see him as a chest beating 'rah rah America' sort of guy but he was created during the second world war when that was quite acceptable. Beyond that he's often been written as someone who loves the idea of America rather than what it's become. The Ed Brubaker run of the comic has been simply brilliant ( as are most things he writes to be honest ) and I really enjoyed the film.

From what they've said, Thor 2 will focus on the elven realm, featuring only glimpses of the other realms but Sutur has been name dropped as a big key character so we may see the 'hell' realm as well.

As for Cap, I agree with Soze. Cap is very much a believer in what America stood for and the freedoms it offered. The most evident example I know of this is in the Civil War story where Cap stands against the US government and shield.

Not being a comic book reader, I wouldn't have known that

But yeah, Superman is the most American wooha characters of the lot, although that has been toned down since the late 80s big time

Watched the 1979 Amityville + 2005 one.

Both very different movies with the same idea.

Liked them both.

My Soul to Take.

Wes Craven's effort to do... something. It wasn't as bad as the 4.6 on IMDB and 9% on Rotten Tomatoes suggests.

A slightly different spin on the slasher genre, with some decent characters.

I think the problem with movies like this is they're becoming so contrived due to audience expectations. We've come from the original twists, which have now become obvious, but because they're become obvious, the twists on twists have become obvious, so you're left with ridiculous shit that makes no sense, or a somewhat predictable ending.

Still. Decent enough.

6.5/10.

I watched Alien 3 last night for the first time since seeing it at the cinema 20 years ago. Went for the 'assembly' version as it's apparently the better of the two...what a boring load of arse! Dull characters, no suspense, overlong, tedious rubbish. Dare I tackle the 4th...been 15 years since I've seen that ( also since it's cinema release! ).

The fourth film is worthy watching it for some Ron Pearlman action.

I have very fond memories of watching the fourth Alien film at the cinema.
The film was decent enough, but better was the handjob in the back row I got from the girl I was seeing at the time.
Great night.

Cinema afternoon

Taken 2 was nowhere near as intense as the first film or visceral and I could see where they had made cuts, but overall a damn good sequel, I hope the bluray has the directors cut because I think that would make it a better movie overall 7.5/10

Looper

Went in expecting massive chase action movie, came out thinking that it was a bloody clever movie, and a total mind fuck, trailer gives nothing away, in fact it does the opposite, makes you think it is the opposite of what it actually is, an enthralling movie and very dark subject matter all in all

8.5/10
