Just watched Stitches.
From Facebook:
Ross Noble plays a killer clown out for revenge on the kids who caused a fatal accident at a birthday party. Cue clown routine style deaths and buckets of gore. Only let-down is a few naff performances from the cast of unknowns. 9/10

Bit more detail because I won't look stupid going into more detail on here:
Noble's character could easily be compared to the "slasher killers" of '80s/'90s horror movies. It's very much a horror comedy so his wisecracks before/during/after killing is to be expected, but still very funny.
Definitely recommended.

Loving Skyfall the more times I watch it, a brilliant addition to the Bond franchise

I still properly dig the title song for that. I am a ignoramus with regards to popular musicians so I didn't really know who Adele is. Sure my sister does. Looks a bit of a mut but do like her voice.

great film, not Ghibli's best, but really good nevertheless.

Skyfall - only decent Daniel Craig Bond film. For them to finally introduce the elments and characters of what makes a Bond film was great, and the villain was fantastically portrayed. It's like they found a writer and director who had actually seen a Bond film. now that Sam Mendez is back to direct, lets hope they can do a repeat performance. I'm curious how Ralph Fiennes character will play out in future films.

I like all 3 of DC's Bond films, but Quantum was all action no story and not Bond, still a good action film, but not a good Bond film at all, Casino was brilliant

Skyfall has actually allowed me to accept DC as a Bond. I am a proper Pierce Brosnan fan on this one. The rest of the actors that have portrayed Bond have been a joke in comparison. Started off with Sean Connery which ok, he was the first and original and I do feel that kind of manipulates peoples thinking into him being the best. I don't think so. Too clumsy looking in fight sequences. Lazenby was great at fighting but fuck all else. Roger Moore was a joke from fim 1 to 6 or 7 (cba to check wikipedia) Timothy Dalton was where a realistic actor was put in the role, a stone cold assassin as I interpret Bond to be. Brosnan perfected this, and Daniel Craig is having a damn good go at it himself. I like this darker tangent on how Bond as a character has evolved. If that makes sense, I have had a few.

OMNIVORES

Image

Dimas, a young Spanish boy, watches his sick mother die while his father is out hunting. When the father eventually returns, he finds his dead wife nibbled on and minus a couple of decent sized portions, his son's guilty-looking face covered in something that in all honesty probably isn't raspberry jam.

A few years later, an investigative journalist called Marcos is hired to look into the possible existence of "clandestine restaurants", exclusive establishments that are said to feature rare and illegal items on the menu.
Beginning with a low-key entry level party where the most exciting thing on the menu is some kind of fancy mushroom, he then moves onto a traditional Japanese gathering featuring the highly poisonous Fugu as the main delicacy. Eventually, he's accepted into the group enough to try out something a little more expensive, and an awful lot meatier. Blindfolded and warned about a strict set of rules he has to follow, he is driven to a secluded mansion owned by the now adult, wealthy, and rather corpulent Dimas and his rather demented looking head chef.

Director Oscar Rojas doesn't take any unnecessary chances with out of place comedy moments or unnecessary plot twists, keeping things nice and concise (something which it's brief 76min running time helps with), only occasionally stopping to spice things up with a bit of naked lady flesh.
The main characters are all fairly interesting, with... ahem, just enough meat on their bones, even if they do all eventually fall squarely into good guy/bad guy territory. The main focus of course is Marcos, as you follow him getting deeper in over his head at every turn, and wondering just how far he will actually go for the sake of his career.

Overall, Omnivores is a surprisingly satisfying little film. The acting is fine, the camerawork is very professional for a film of its budget, and for once, especially considering the subject matter, the gore and special effects are kept to a minimum, with the film relying more on suggestion and character reaction. Sure, there's blood and gore to be had, just not as much as other films would probably have included.

Could I have a hand in the kitchen please?

Skyfall.

i loved the old school feel it had.
Javier Bardem was amazing as Silva. the chase through the train station was very good.
also, their are a lot of 'nods' to old Bond films throughout.

End of Watch.
just watched it last night, didnt really have any expectations going in. was pleasently surprised.
jumping from 1 style of filming to another then back again within a few frames.
this style was fun, interesting and annoying all at the same time.
Jake Gyllenhaal was good as was Michael Pena.
the timeline didnt really fit (filming for arts class, meets girl, marries girl), unless he was lying about his arts class so he would have an excuse for carrying a camera everywhere.
the 'gangsters' were pretty over the top in a film that seems to try and be realistic(i.e violence, police attitude etc)
other than a few drips and drabs. i thoroughly enjoyed it. a different perspective on the 'cop buddy' movies.
8/10
upcoming gigs: Converge/Old Man Gloom. Soundwave Festival. Kyuss/Orange Goblin/Red Fang. Opeth. Break The Ice Fest.

Totally disagree - Quantum of Solace was not a good action film at all, it was one of the dullest and tedious films I've ever seen, it reminded me of the equally snoretastic Mission Impossible 2. The only Bond films worse than QOS are A View To A Kill and The Man With The Golden Gun.

Casino Royale was decent, and I loved the casino scene, but it got dragged down a bit with the endless building-falling-into-the-water scene.

Skyfall is massively better than both of them.

QoS was an utter turd. the worst film since OHMSS.

Casino was god awful. yes, Andy can argue it was closer to the book and all the guff, but it was still one massive bore, tried to hard to copy the Bourne films in the opening sequence and is way too long.

Skyfall as i said, has all the elements back and is a proper Bond film, even if the product placement was incredibly ott.
