Wow, talk about missing the point completely.

Why even bother naming it after a book if you're going to ignore one of the main features in it. CGI hyperspeed nobheads aren't zombies.

Well I suppose the idea is to be original a bit. As pointed out, not much to be scared of a slow zombie and the running ones have been done as well just this takes it to more of an extreme. They do kinda remind of the 'crossed infected' in Garth Ennis's Crossed graphic novel, just without all the weird perverted sex with dead body parts, or slapping people round the head with a horse willy, but do have enough intelligence to be a threat.

Not the first time it's happened.

The Lawnmower Man and The Running Man to name but two.
At least The Running Man was good in its own right though.

And let's not forget Conan and Total Recall, and when they finally made story versions, people said they hated them because they weren't like the original film's

although I do prefer the original Arnie versions for both films, the newer versions are closer to the original text, especially Conan, and I do love the new Conan film, the new Total Recall was a waste of time Sadly

I have been reading about WWZ for a while, that trailer really has put me off it, far too much CGI.

Saw Argo and Beasts of the Southern Wild last night.

Argo wasn't as funny as I was expecting. I think it would have worked better if they'd stuck to the "true story" thing less and made it more of a comedy/farce.

Beasts of the Southern Wild was pretty good, although it was a bit arty and, while I enjoyed it, I probably wouldn't watch it again.

Nothing about the trailer made me think it was a comedy, in fact every promotion piece I have seen for the film has been that it's a thriller :?

I wasn't expecting it to be a pure comedy, but I was expecting it to have more humour in it. It did have funny moments though. I think it would have worked better with more humour.

I'm pretty sure Argo isn't meant to be a comedy in the slightest.

The premise of trying to sneak people out of a middle-eastern country by pretending that they're a film crew scouting locations for a science fiction movie does somewhat lend itself to comedy if you ask me.

I wouldn't go as far as Peter Bradshaw did in the Guardian and actually describe the film as a comedy (http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2012/nov/08/argo-review) but it had quite a few funny moments.
