It doesn't appear to be anything to do with zombies tbh. Although the book it's based on is the trailer suggests they're just going for an action thriller with scary fast people.

As much as I think of myself as a massive zombie fan there aren't actually that many movies featuring them that are any good...the original Romero trilogy of course, three of the greatest movies ever made....other than that...Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue, Rec., Zombie Flesh Eaters and then comedies like Return of the Living Dead, Shaun of the Dead and Cockneys Vs Zombies. Dellamorte Dellamore and The Dead are OK...but I'm struggling beyond this.

The Walking Dead is one of the best shows on TV at the moment though.

What about Zombieland and Peter Jackson's Braindead (AKA Dead Alive)?

I wasn't a massive fan of Zombieland, it was OK. Brain Dead is awesome fun of course...but I don't really think of it as a zombie film. I've seen stuff like Evil Dead get called a zombie movie before based on the fact they feature undead but to me that shit is just evil demons. I guess Reanimator is a zombie film in that sense too.

A proper zombie film for me has to be set in some sort of apocalyptic future ( a good deal of the appeal for me is seeing how people survive in such an environment...the zombies are just the icing on the cake! ) and I'm much happier with shuffling, groaning zombies who like to eat people and only die by brain damage. Stuff that pays homage to Romero basically!

Been watching a shit film every night for the last few weeks. Tonight's treat was A Prayer For The Dying. This one was especially wank, and even more so considering the calibre of the actors in it. Most ridiculous plot ever too. IRA bomber comes to London and falls in love with a blind chick who lives in a church. Fucking pissed myself the whole way through
Seven Sisters - Proper Heavy Metal from London Town. Upcoming shows:

23/05 - Heavy Sound Festival, Poperinge, Belgium
18/07- Metalbrew, London
01/08 - The Black Heart, London
29/08- No Sleep 'Til Dublin

Is it as good as Shark in Venice? Now that is a quality film.

On a serious note don't watch Shark in Venice, it's vastly more terrible than it is hilariously bad. For the shark attack scenes it does use stock footage of sharks in the wild and then just cuts to someone covered in fake blood which is pretty hilarious though. The shark is also guarding the treasures of the Medici which their ancestors stole during the 4th Crusade

INBRED

Two care workers (The gay barman from Is Harry on the Boat, and Shaun's mother from This is England) go up north with some young offenders and get chased around some fields by some truly f**king awful actors with hilarious oversized teeth and accents.
Sorry, did I say hilarious?
I meant shit.

Thankfully, Inbred is director Alex Chandon's only third full length film since 1997. And if The Lord is merciful, it will be his last.
The worst thing about Inbred is that that Chandon actually seems to be under the misguided impression that for large sections, it's a serious horror film with a bit of (shit) comedy thrown in, when in fact it's merely the result of watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The League of Gentlemen, and Monty Python's Flying Circus while on an all night drugs bender.

At one point, a character has a slurry pump shoved into his mouth and gallon after gallon of foul-smelling shit is rammed down his throat.

I know just how he felt.
Except I could reach the off switch.

Aye, I've seen it. It's pretty shit.

While I was on the plane the other day/night/what seemed like forever I watched a couple of movies. One of which was Woody Allen's To Rome with Love. I've never been a big fan of his but I really enjoyed last year's Midnight in Paris, and thought this was in the similar vein, and I thought it was excellent.

Saw a couple of others, nothing particularly worth mentioning.

Broadway are showing it in Nottingham. I'll probably see it next week.

KILL LIST
Domestic drama turns into a hitman thriller turns into a horror film turns into utter f**king drivel which makes no sense to anybody.

I thought Kill List was alright, but just couldn't connect with the lead character at all. Thought he was a cunt from scene one.

Closest one to me is Lancaster, which has a q+a with the director.
That's very tempting.
