Nifty, I was only expecting Orlando Bloom to turn up for a cameo. Looks like it's in it quite a bit.

Legolas bothers me less than Tauriel. I think both will be overused & overhyped, but Legolas being there does make sense & is very loosely referenced in The Lord Of The Rings if looked at from a certain view point.

I get him being a cameo making sense, but not as a main part which it looks like he'll have. And yeah, Tauriel pisses me off so bad. I get why they did it, because there were no women characters in the book, and butthurt women would complain about lack of equality or some bullshit like they always do, but it just annoys me. She's not really needed. The lack of women in the book never bothered me, it wouldn't in the film either.
Though I have to remind myself to view the films as separate to the book.

That's basically my opinion. The changes, for the most part, haven't bothered me too much in any of the films so far. Also, at the end of the day, I can just go back to the books.

My problem with trying to be to clever & changing a little to much, would be that they would lose the feel & overall concepts of the books. So far I don't feel this has happened & I think they have kept mostly true to the themes. I tend to think I will not be disappointed come the end of it all.

I think he has a much bigger role in part 3 which is using a battle from Lord of the Rings. I think his role in part 2 is just leading up to that.

I really enjoyed The Hobbit although I haven't bothered to re-watch it as yet. The sequel is looking fun, to be honest i haven't read the book since I was about 8 or 9 years old (which is a loooong time ago!!) so I doubt I'll even notice any changes let alone give a shit about them.
