It was manipulative, obvious, and it's all been done before - but without a ton of pointless '80s references jammed in when there's nothing interesting to say.
I'm amazed I even saw it through to the end.

Actually, in a week for remembering Harold Ramis, watching this film has been perfectly timed as it's basically an updated version of the Ramis scripted Meatballs.

Are you talking of the American remake or the Korean original?

I was gonna say it was a very surprising view of the original like.

Haven't seen the remake yet, I'm torn with it cus I really like the original version and have heard nothing but bad things of the remake yet I'm curious.

The remake was literally the worst thing that has ever been made. Bar things to do with mass genocide.

The Monuments Men - Nice fairly easy going film, slow in places, but a good watch all the same

Attempting to watch Billy Elliot.

Currently confused as shit. For such a successful movie, not much is happening >.<

Gravity - Really don't get the fuss with this film, i've heard less panting in a porno and its just so predictable it hurts. Really don't understand how it won so many awards, especially best director, just no!

Watched the original Oldboy for the first time. I couldn't concentrate on it because I was too busy comparing it to the remake and how infinitely dreadful it was in comparison. Apart from being an utter pile of shit in its own right, it changed the story, cut out the best scenes and stuck in some product placement for Google for no good reason.

Seriously, Oldboy 2013 - worst thing ever.

Most of it's Oscars were for SFX and technical achievements weren't they? I was relieved it didn't win best picture, it's visually stunning but has little plot and I found it emotionally bereft. I was quite bored for most of it.

The Oscars was pointless as always. We all know the best film was Wolf of wall street. Also I think Rush should have got something.
I see the bad moon arising.

Alfonso Cuaron won Best Director for it.

For directing two Oscar winning actors stood infront of a green screen.
Brilliant.

I preferred 12 Years personally. Wolf dragged a little in the middle for me although I did enjoy it. I can't think of a truly great film that came out last year (although there are a few I haven't seen yet (Rush notably)). Has anyone seen 'Her' yet? That's getting some rave reviews but was in and out of my local cinema in a flash.

Haven't watched 12 years because it has Fassbender in it and I literally cannot stand him. Wolf for me was amazing, but got slated for its drug and sex scenes, Rush was alright but nothing special, Her was amazing and only got to see it once in the cinema because for some reason was only on for 2 weeks in my local
