Re: movies
Anyone else use Letterboxd to track/review what they've watched?
Here's my profile if you do.

I wasn't but I'm a sucker for this sort of stuff so I've set up an account. It's little more than a fancier IMDB from what I can tell but I've faffed around with it enough to compile a top 100 list!

Re: movies
The Hobbit (part 3)........i don't want to spoil it for anyone but i will say i was disappointed with the amount of CGI in it, disappointed at cringeworthy references to the Lord of the Rings, cringeworthy action shots that defy gravity, still pissed about Legolas being a major character (more so than the last 2) despite not really belonging in the film, still pissed at the ridiculous love triangle they wrote into it so they had a female character at all (other than Galadriel who was also forced into the movies).
there was talk of them doing a Silmarillion story or two in a future movie....unless it returns to the way the LOTR movies were done i'm not really interested. Bare in mind i did actually enjoy the first two Hobbit films a fair bit but this one fell way short for me.
5/10

Re: movies
I saw the Hobbit part 3 earlier in the week. Some of the dwarves, particularly Thorin Oakenshield, looking very undwarvish (positively human in fact) really bugged me and that bit where Legolas runs up falling masonry annoyed me in the same way as the bit with John McClane and the F35 in Die Hard 4.
Overall, I thought the trilogy was OK but nowhere near as good as the LOTR trilogy. I would like to see the extended cuts of the hobbit, but I'll wait until they're well down in price.

Nice, just followed you. It's telling me I've on;y seen 10% of your top 100.
(M, Casablanca, Graduate, Clockwork Orange, Blade Runner, Back To The Future, Back To The Future II, Goodfellas, Braveheart, Grand Budapest Hotel)
Though are few are on my 'to watch' list. Eternal Sunshine for example I got on blu ray the other week as Michael Gondry is the next director I'll be looking at after I finish David Gordon Green. It was after seeing Mood Indigo earlier this year that I got interested in him.
My mate Andy put a top 50 together, so I attempted a favourite 50. I've not seen a massive amount of films, so I'm sure there'll be some unusual choices in it. I'll post it when I get round to it.

Re: movies
Here we go.
Possibly the only time Young Guns and Lost Boys will be seen in the same best of list as Aguirre and Koyaanisqatsi.
Also I feel I have a bit of a bias towards the last decade.

Eternal Sunshine is my joint favourite movie of all time alongside Mulholland Drive. Have you never seen Star Wars???!

Signed up and followed you both, seeing as I've gotten back into films recently I'll probably get good use out of the site.

Re: movies
Nice one pashers
Ah of course, many many times.
I put your list on hide unwatched so I could only see what I've seen. And as Star Wars are just part of the 'family' dvd collection, when I added all the DVD's I've got that I've seen, and my last couple of years of cinema trips, it didn't get added.
Just noticed your films of the year list.
I'm planning on doing a top ten soon but I've a few downloaded that I Want to see that could possibly edge in. Though I don't think I'll have time for all eleven on the 'to see' list, so I'm hoping to fit in at least Gimme Shelter, Hellion, Night Moves, and White Bird In A Blizzard in the next few weeks.

Re: movies
Just seen another Barbarian Brothers masterpiece - "Think Big". Gloriously bad movie!
Also found a very cheesy looking Mad Max rip off with Patrick Swayze. Gonna have to watch this at some point:

Re: movies
Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa - I find this character hit and miss but the film was actually really funny. Some great jokes my favourites being " I'm trying to save your head.........shoulders...knees...and toes". 8/10

That comment can be read very diffferently than what was meant.
