Watched Apt Pupil again last night.
Ian McKellen plays a nasty (ex) nazi being blackmailed by a high school kid. Great film.

Considering going to watch Rambo this week, what's it like anyone who's seen it?

Also what do people make of that new film, I don't remember the name but it's one word, and vaguely horror based

1. Rambo is incredibly violent. No real story to speak of but did you really expect anything else? Expect carnage.

2. Cloverfield? If that's the one you meant, I'm afraid I can't help you as I haven't seen it yet.

Sounds like that one's right up my bloodstained alley.

Just been to see Rambo and it is a great film, lots of mindless violence and gore with some moments of total hilarity and none of this psychological shite trying to make you feel guilty for killing your enemy, total escapism :-) here's hoping for Arnie to get his act together and Commando 2

Commando 2 would be the greatest film ever made. I sometimes dream of how awesome it could be.

*ahem*

It is my full intention to go see Rambo this week. I absolutely must.

Just watched a little no-budgeter called GRIZZLY PARK.
A group of young offenders serve out their community service by walking the trails up in the mountains, collecting rubbish and such. Meanwhile, a homicidal maniac manages to sneak his way up there aswell.
Then a 12ft bad tempered Grizzly appears...

It's occasionally gory, is quite funny and has a lot of semi-nudity from all the lovely ladies on display in it. The main problem is that it doesn't seem to know if it wants to be a thriller, a comedy or a horror film. Still, it passed away 90 minutes quite nicely so it couldn't have been too bad.
6/10

Princess Mononoke. A thoughtful examination of the relationship betwen humans and nature.
And you get to see some guy's arms get ripped off and nailed to a tree by an arrow. Excellent.

Flyboys - Based very, very loosely on the US pilots who flew for the French in WW1. Has its moments and the dogfights are well done but does nosedive into cheesiness on a number of occasions.

Watched a few films in the past 2 days.
Watched The Attic - about a girl who goes into a house where the attic mirror makes you see things and go crazy. Pretty shit, I got bored.

Watched a japanese film, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. Wow, it's just so good although slightly psychologically disturbing in places. The violence didn't disturb me as much as other things in the film though - more subtle things.

Watched the worst, but best film ever with my boyfriend, his brother and our mate last night. xD Orgazmo - it's like about a martial-arts champion, theatre student mormon who turns into a pornstar. xD

Watched Cloverfield at the cinema and I really liked it. One of the few films that I think (genuinely) works better on a big screen and is worth the cost to see it that way.

And I thought it was average at best, shit cast, annoying dickhead characters, some silly plot moments and it made me feel queasy by the end...

Not that it wasn't without redeeming features.
