Remove "drunk" from that summary sentence, and it has my approval! :P

Add inconsiderate car drivers to this and it would make me happy.

I can imagine when these mini robotic spy flies come out, the fly swat will become the new 'fight da powah' symbol.

Replace it with pretty much all other road users apart from a couple of us lot and you have a deal.

I haven't wanted to start a band for a few years now. Just recently I've had the strong urge to create a doom band using trad folk songs and tunes. As far as I know, there are no bands like this.

Drone or doom?

Either would work, droning guitars backed by hurdy gurdy or accordion tones, or grove doom with counter melodies on accordion or some shit.

It'd work though.

After realising that I'm not in any way musical enough to write/play my own music I've recently been finding out about/considering getting involved in a more managerial/promoter sense. If you decide to start gigging feel free to contact me if I do end up doing stuff in the promoting area of things :)

When you do, make a cover of Steeleye Span's 'Cam Ye O'er Frae France'. I can hear a metal version of that song in my head really clearly, but I have a complete lack of musical skill with which to properly create it.

It'd have the sort of atmosphere and speed of something like Evoken, and more than likely guitar driven. I think a few trad folk songs would work slowed down with harsh vocals. It certainly would be the typical folk rock/metal bouncy, joyful feel I get bored and fed up with hearing.

That's probably a good example of a tune that wouldn't take too much to achieve the sound I have in mind. That sort of speed, probably a bit slower, but with harsh vocals and obviously far heavier guitars. I can think of a couple more tunes that I could fettle and turn all doomy and, indeed Jim, droney.

I just need to take this idea seriously enough to practise and find the sound I'm after, find and arrange tunes and songs to fit, find other musicians interested enough to join and get the project off the ground.
