If I walk about a mile then I can see Wales. That's a foreign country innit? :P

No because Wales isn't a country ;-)

I hear if you're high enough, on a clear day, you can see Germany. Admittedly, you'd also be in space.

Imagine there was a heat-proof tube and ladder going right through the earth from Spain to New Zealand and you climbed down it from Spain (with all necessary provisions) feet first. When you got to the centre would there be a zero-gravity effect? If so, then you would lose your sense of up and down but if you carried on in the same direction through the centre would you then feel that you were upside down as if you'd come from New Zealand head-first? It's hard to imagine the transition from a feeling of descending to a feeling of ascending.

Has anyone cooked game (pigeon, pheasant etc.) before?

There's a family of plump wood pigeons who nest in my trees. I've often wondered what they taste like.

Yes, a fair few times. Different rules for different birds. Did you have anything in mind specifically?

Was thinking of cooking some pigeon, maybe pan frying it? Does it come already plucked etc or do you have to take off all the feathers and stuff yourself?

Depends who and where you buy it from. Generally if you're getting from the butchers or a supermarket it'll be plucked, gutted and ready to cook. Personally when I do them I fry on each side for a couple of minutes to brown, then shove them in the oven for another 5-10 minutes, depending on how pink you want it. Pigeon should still be slightly pink.

If you want some ideas the BBC Food website has loads of pigeon dishes: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/searc ... &x=14&y=24

I want to get some rook squabs (the adult birds are meant to be a bit tough) to use in Electric Wizard's Rook Pie recipe out of Hellbent For Cooking. There's a massive rookery in Wollaton park. Wonder what the best way of catching/hunting the squabs would be.
All right, so I MADE a mistake! ONE MISTAKE!
Can't a man start over?! Do I have to keep on PAYING?! HUH?!
Maybe I should make another mistake! ...maybe TWO more!

Since I stopped smoking and drinking, I've been having really mad cravings for blue cheese and dark chocolate. Anyone know why this is? Guessing its to do with the strong taste/nice effects of those foods?
