One of the girls at work found out she was pregnant yesterday. She was thrilled to find that out as she'd been told a year or so ago that she'd never have children. She's put it up on Facebook and our boss has put it on the pub's group, as well as announcing it last night at the quiz.
I've congratulated her, and I really do hope it all goes well and is a healthy baby, but it's not sitting right. Call me a skeptic, but isn't it a bit dangerous to go announcing it to so many people so early, when it's known that she's been told she can't have kids?
It is a "tradition" to not announce pregnancy until the 12 week scan because at that point the risks are considerably lessened but if she's been trying then her excitement is understandable.
Haha, she's not exactly been "trying", more a case of not using protection as she'd been told she couldn't have kids anyway But no, I can totally understand her excitement. Just a bit concerned that she's announced it so early.
But hey, not my business. I wish her all the best and hope things go smoothly.
