While in the shower I came to the sudden and not at all strange conclusion that I don't like being called Steve. I can tolerate it for purposes of not wanting to appear petty but I much prefer Stephen or Ste.

There really ought to be more important things to think about.

My mates Chris hates Chris. Much prefers Christopher. Guess what name my mate Chris gets called?

I think with people who already call you Steve you might just have to tolerate it I'm afraid. I spent 10 years trying to stop people calling me Pete until I gave in.

Yeah. Like I said I can tolerate it. I'm not the kind to throw teacups around because they've used a variant of my name I happen not to like. I've been called much worse so it isn't that hard to live with.

Daft thing is I'm trying to train myself out of defaulting to Steve when asked my name.

I'll have to add Night Cops to mine though, as they go all over the country on that one, and quite often Edinburgh xD

both of you should add sons of anarchy to your lists. its literally the best thing on TV. except if boy meets world starts being shown again, then that will once more be the greatest thing on TV

I'm happy to call you Stephen, but I will never, ever call anyone 'Ste'

You know what kind of people calls themselves 'Ste'? Absolute cunts, that's what kind.

That's what my brothers have always called me and occasionally other people use it. I never actually give it as my name, though I'll sometimes sign emails with it.

I'm well envious of my mum, she's just started reading The Crimson Petal and the White for the first time. I wish I were reading it for the first time again!
