I just imagined you saying positively horrid. This amuses me greatly :D And it also sounds way less Jane Austeny when I realise how you'd actually be saying it.

It's also funny considering I should hilariously posh for an Irish person, but I'm glad I amused you :P
If I like it, It's probably awful.

How Big Is Infinity?

Melt your brain with set theory and continuum hypothesis. But explained quite simply.

There are different sizes of infinity, that's a bad question! Presumably that's what the link is about. Mathematics at university level can be quite interesting. Only sometimes though. :P

That's exactly what the video explains :P

Fuck different sizes of infinity.

It's fucking infinity.

I don't care how often that fucking lecturer says it.

It's fucking infinite. It's in the fucking title. You don't get different infinity. it's infinite.

disclaimer: i'm aware of the whole negative infinity and blah blahlahlfsbFJDSKLHFJA FUCK YOU. ONE KIND OF INFINITY.

It's nothing to do with negative infinity or anything - it's more things like the set of reals is larger than the set of integers. It kind of makes sense if you think about it in the right way. To be fair I can't remember the right way to think about it any more. :P

Basically, if you look at one group as an infinity, the other is always going to have more belonging to it than your original, therefore it is a "larger" infinity.

Cowbacca's on the right line with sets. When you have a set of numbers form 1 to infinity, you could have an infinite number of sets of those sets of numbers.

I don't think that's right. The set of the set of all positive ints and the set of all negative ints is the same size as either one of the component sets. I might be completely misunderstanding you, apologies if so.

I did this in uni and we had to prove it (as in proper mathematical proof, not with words), and I vaguely remember something like this.

The answer presumably is very very big for those of us without a mathematical brain....

Ah I see. Meh, I might check it out, I dunno. A part of me was hoping it was going to be the novelty 80s night I requested but that's wishful thinking. Plus 'wildside' alluding to Motley Crue.

I'm just looking at the Bloodstock Clashfinder and there's shockingly few bands I want to actually see. Guess more boozing time.
