It seems to cut every 2 seconds, I hate the way it's been filmed. While I love the majority of the songs, some of the singing lacks emotion considering what's going on. For someone like me, who is pretty good at "getting" films, I'm really struggling with following the story. It's still a very good one, but at points is explained in a pretty shit way. The settings, costumes, makeup - all of that is brilliant, and I cannot fault that at all. Out of all the peoples' singing, I prefer Crowe's. The scenes I've liked the most so far have been with Carter and Cohen though.

I have a feeling it's "easier" for people who are either French or British to appreciate this, as most of those people seem to know the details of the story. The films seems to take for granted that you should do, which is a shame.

I've still got another 40 minutes or so to go, and I'm considering turning it off. Sorry, but not for me. TEAM DJANGO.

I haven't watched it but all I've heard from everyone was that his singing was horrendous.

I felt mostly the same was as Moo with Les Mis, minus Russel Crowe being good. I thought it was a pompous mess. Sure it had big emotions, but the film consisted pretty much only of big songs and set pieces, there's no time for the viewer to learn about the characters enough to actually give a shit about them.

Plus I personally can't stomach "love at first sight" stories. I can appreciate that this is an adaptation of an adaptation of a very old book, but the love story in this jut felt forced.


I can see why a lot of people would love it, but it's just not for me. I found it crazy overrated, and I'm a fan of big cheesy emotional shit like that really.

I thought "Look Down" sounded good, everything else ranged from mediocre to fucking painful, regardless of the singing.

And Javert's suicide genuinely made me laugh because it looked so fucking silly

Yeah, he was in D:Ream, also used to be in Dare as well I believe.

He was indeed with DARE, He was there bus driver then they found he could played keyboards, so it was easier to use him Long story how I know this, but that's how Vinny Burns tells it
