It's not just you. Playing the "we've been censored for our views!" persecution card is a tactic employed particularly by bigots.

There's a massive rise in counter-current media on this vast world wide web. Using the censorship card only works on the lowest common denominator to get views. "The video they didn't want you to see!" Get tae fuck.

While channels like Keemstar's exist, those "banned" videos are idiotic but harmless.

So the Olympics start this week....

Seems no one is interested, yet four years ago every pretend sports fan imaginable was going on about them for months.

I'm interested in the shitshow it could become, but not the actual sports.

I'm waiting to see how many kidnaps, robbings, and events cancelled because of illness there are.

Just wait till we start doing well in the Dressage and everyone can debate the merits of the tap-dancing horses

I'll watch some of it. Don't think I'll be staying up until 4am though.

Speaking of which...

Whatever happened to post pub TV on a Friday? We only had four channels back in the 1980s and '90s, yet there was always something decent on when you came home from the pub. Now there are loads of channels and it's all repeats and crap.

TV in general is pretty shit, tbh. Before Robot Wars started I hadn't properly watched TV in a long time, just Netflix, NowTV and Youtube. Even Robot Wars I just watch on BBC iPlayer.

You've pretty much summed up why I've not bothered to get a TV, nor is it missed. Everything I want is available on demand through the internet - why bother?

There used to be a great pairing of Roseanne and Cheers on Ch.4 on Friday or Saturday (?) nights. The good thing about there being so few channels was that there were always a few people who'd watched the same as you so you could chat to them about it a day or two later. Community, society.
