Prince's vaults are in the news again. Some sources seem to be reporting this as if it's a new thing but I remember hearing about them back in the 90s. He's reputedly got at least as much unrealeased music as he has released...possibly much more. I suspect, among those archives, you may be able to find the following...

  • A concept album about The Wombles (I have it on good authority that "Raspberry Beret" was originally called "Madame Cholet" and was reworked after the Wombles album was canned due to a cease and desist order from the BBC)
  • An album of duets with Paul Shane
  • An alternate soundtrack written for the movie Downfall called "Das Untergangenfunken", in the same vein as his soundtrack to Tim Burton's first Batman movie
  • An album on which Prince recreates his greatest hits using only hambone and eefing.
