You don't realise how much you use it till it's gone.

I had no internet for a couple of days, and I caught myself about 50 times automatically going to open Firefox.

"Oh shit, laptop's broke, there's nothing to do, I'm really bored."
"Think I'll go browse SA for a bit... Ah, fuck." *watches TV*
*Programme finishes*
"Well that was alright, might check the forums... ah, fuck." *watches TV*

The problem with the beatles, that stops me saying they suck, is they've spanned so many genres with so many albums that I haven't listened to that I can't just outright say I don't like any of their songs.

Different to say, Nile. Who sound the same on every album, and always sound shit.

Which is precisely what little of the Beatles' catalogue I do like, is compromised of their later material.

Also, lol Nile suck lol.

Is it really weird to reference an article written by the person who's going to mark the essay?

Probably. But if it's useful and relevant, then there's no reason not to.

I was about to do a similar thing and take a metaphor from one of his papers (which we also had to read and discuss in class. Awwwwwwwkward.). The bastard comes up with so many catchy slogans that they're impossible not to include in some form. Its annoyingly brilliant.

It's fine. I had the same problem when I did a project on The Beach for my utopia/dystopia-type module last year. Being pretty much the only person I could find who's written anything academic on the book so far, referencing my tutor was unavoidable. (Bit of a stupid choice to research, in hindsight.) Didn't do too badly, anyway!

Yeah, it's just plopping in a footnote to reference one idea, it's not like I'm going to start theorising on what she meant by it, 'cause that would really be awkward, if I got it all wrong.

I always thought it got you better marks as most lecturers are pretty egotistical

Tbh, I get that impression from a lot of my lecturers, but not this one. She's really focused on the students, and she's just so relaxed. You can tell that she's landed a dream job, doing what she loves every day. :) And that's why I'm so worried about misinterpreting her arguments, I really want to make a good impression on her.

The lecturers in my department seem to write a ridiculous proportion of the material we're suggested to read, so I end up referencing the marking lecturer all the time. It's kind of hilarious.

Is it better to have average stereo speakers with a seperate subwoofer, or good stereo speakers with no subwoofer?

Personally I love having a sub because excessive bass is awesome :eyes:

Nothing like being able to hear your music from the bottom floor when it's being played in the attic :D
