Shawn Smith - honey voiced singer from Pigeonhed, Satchell who got noticed after being swept in the grunge scene after singing on Pearl Jam spin-off band Brad's Shame album which came out as PJ were getting massive. They made more albums, and he sung on the first album of Afghan Whigs spin-off The Twilight Singers, plus having his songs all over The Sopranos. I saw Brad on their only UK tour, have the poster hung in my hallway - he had an amazing voice and did the not-inconsiderable feat of making a a member of Pearl Jam funky.

Niki Lauda died yesterday at 70. He won two F1 World Championships after a horrendous crash in 1967 where he suffered third degree burns to his face. What a guy.

Mac Rebennack - aka Dr John - part of the 'wrecking crew' group of musicians who played sessions on countless of singles in the 60s before inventing the 'Dr John' character from old voodoo tales and playing strange mix of psychedelia, voodoo and rnb, he ended up on albums by Rolling Stones, Zappa, The Band etc.

Any Father Ted fans out there will remember Father Stack ("I've had my fun and that's all that matters...")...the actor Brendan Grace has died

The curse of Father Ted strikes again.

Seriously, if you look through the actors that played named roles many of them are dead. Some of them quite young.
